Don’s motto at Unconventional-Airsoft.com is “Questionable Airsoft Science“. He recently put his motto into action by executing an experiment to try and guague the “pain” caused by different weight BBs (.12g, .20g, .28g, .43g) fired from the same gun.
WeiTech is infamous for their mid-high quality GBBs. While their earlier products have been so-so at best, their new stuff is definitely promising. Now, we have the M4 GBB. WeiTech joins Western Arms, Inokatsu, and Classic Army in the GBB rifle universe. Hopefully - we’ll see a high quality product with a consumer-friendly sticker price.
Here’s the video. I warn you, I needed to change my undies after watching it.

They’re cheap, they work (apparently), and they’re for your PTW.
The cheap plastic magazine revolution has finally spread to the PTW. Which is great, because instead of $64USD for one mag, now you can buy 5 plastic ones.

Attention Manitoban Airsofters!
If CQB is your game, then here’s the event for you. The ‘08-’09 CQB League is now open for preliminary sign-ups.
No registration fees will be taken at the moment, this is a preliminary sign-up to get your name down and team registered. Get 4-6 people together and sign-up today! Don’t have that many people? Don’t worry! Lone wolfs are welcome! League Administration will hold a draft for other teams that may be a person or two short, so it’s a great way to get to play with more experienced airsofters and learn a few things.
This year there are a dozen different game scenarios, including the classics: Bomb Defusal, Hostage Rescue, Capture the Flag, Flag Hunt, and many new ones. Team Captains will meet with League officials to determine which scenarios will make it into this year’s game rotation.
Individual and Team stats will be counted again this year, with prizes going to the League Champions as well as individual prizes based on performance.
Simon sent in some interesting news yesterday regarding a new product from SOCOM Gear. Their new LiPo batteries are developed specifically for AEGs and Airsoft usage, and are not re-branded R/C batteries.
These batteries are touted as “HIGH PERFORMANCE AND LESS HAZARDOUS”, and are available in 11.1V and 7.4V configurations, with mAH ranging from 1000mAH to 1500mAH. Although they are claimed to be less hazardous, they still ask retailers to have customers sign a waiver included in every box.
Is there a difference between these and say, Firefox LiPo batteries? We’re looking to get some in and give them a try, so we’ll see for ourselves.
